On the Road : The WOES while Travelling
Not trying to sound like a paranoid freak, but heading out alone to explore the world (which is a big bad place) might not end pleasantly if you are not careful. It is always better to be safe than sorry. Some tips to keep you safe while you are bitten by the travel bug :::
1. Being duped
This is the most common of all. You go to a new place and if your luck is as bad as mine (which is very rare ) then you will be duped by everyone-from the hotel manager to the cab drivers to vendors.
Your tactic : Thanks the internet, and look up every detail about that place- economy, cab fares, hotel prices, etc. Check up the crime rates, and look up the phone number of the police, ambulance, women help and fire brigade. Better safe than sorry.
2. Unknowingly breaking a law
I wrote unknowingly because I have assumed people are smart enough not to fall unto unnecessary trouble in a foreign land. Even if you don't, there is a very high probability that you might not have the constitution of their land memorized and break in a few minor laws, but which can surely be a big pain to you.
Your tactic : Look up the minor laws, the most frequent things people get caught for, the weird laws if any. It will keep you safe and you will return home in one piece.
3. Running out of money
This can happen due to many reasons- change of plans, getting robbed, or you probably decided to be a spendthrift in a bad moment. In any case, without cash, you do not have much chance of survival. The truth.
Your tactic : Keep an emergency stock of bills enough to get you home.
4. Falling ill
You rain danced , or got sun-stroked, or caught hypothermia while camping out in the slow clad mountains, broke your leg - and many other gory stuff that could happen.
Your tactic : A first aid kit with you at all times. Always check for the nearest hospitals, medical stores.
5. Lost luggage
That bag which has your everything - identification certificates, passport, money, credit/debit cards, cash, cell phone charger- might get lost or stolen by crooks.
Your tactic : Keep your things separated in two or three bags. Scan all your docs prior to your trip and save them in google drive. Keep a spare cell phone charger, cell phone ,cash, and card. Guard this small bag with your life. Just strap it around your torso, if you are as paranoid as I am.
SOME PRO-TIPS :--
1. The Internet
My point is, when you have something so powerful, why not use it? Always keep a wifi hotspot with you at all times. It will help you when people won't.
2. A power bank
In case you get stranded somewhere, or your charger is lost, you need a backup plan, and a power bank will prove to be a boon.
3. Getting familiar with the locals
They will help you if you win them. They know every nook and cranny, everything that can happen (except alien invasion. They won't be much helpful in prognosticating that) . It is their home, their rules.
4. Staying out of needless fights
Do not use your fist if there is another way. Getting into fights will create unwanted enemies and who knows what they are capable of. Always try and be patient while dealing with a tricky situation, but make sure you use soothing words and get out of there as fast as possible.
5. Clear head and contingency plans
No matter what happens, do not loose your head to any situation. Just calm down and think it through. Though I highly prefer if someone is equipped in self defense, but even if that is not the case, getting worried will increase the chances of more incoming trouble. Take a deep breath figure it out.

Ha Ha Ha....I found it quite funny but no less informative and helpful at the same time. Really well written in a light-hearted tone. Keep it up!
